I am 13, and I have pain in the lower muscle of my back. It is the muscle on the left side of my back just above my hip, and if feels like a ripping pain. What is this, how could this have started, and how should I deal with it.

I just started to get this lower back throbbing which feels like the pain i get when im on my period, but its not that time of the month for me so i am curious as to what it is. I also have this slight pain from my hip joint area to my knee that feels similar to growing pains, but im not sure if that is something regarding to my back. I get back pain from standing too long, but it goes away once i rest it, but i havent done much standing today and ive been laying down and it still hasnt gotten better. if anything the pain has gotten worse.
Also i have a history with what ive always thought of them as growing pains even though im 17 years old thats why i dont know if the two have anything to do with each other.
I need some possible causes for my back pain and what i should do if it doesnt get better, thanks!

For the last few days Ive had sever lower back pain right above my butt behind my belly button. It hurts to sit down to bend and it hurts worse when I go #2, What could be the cause of this? I almost feel like I need pain medication it hurts so bad. Ive been constipated before but never had this pain I dont think its associated with constipation been going reguraly.

Hi,as I sit here crying I’m begging someone who knows how to deal with chronic lower back pain,to please give me some ideas.I’ve had this for 13 years and it’s every single day.I wake up every morning praying not to feel it,that is if I’m lucky enough to drift off to sleep even for a short while.I like to be on the go and this stops me dead in my tracks.A pain that I’m tired of.A burning constant pain, pain.I have degenerative disk disease and bulging disks on L4 and L5.I’m 32 and Monday is my birthday.This all stems from a epidural during my second child’s birth performed by a practicing Dr.(about 13 years ago,Nyack Hospital Rockland County N.Y.)One of the biggest law suites I missed out on.(major family problems at the time) I’m on powerful pain medicine but it doesn’t seem to take much of the pain away.And if I miss a dose I get irritable,tired,hot/cold flashes and a freezing nose.
I’ve tried everything. I feel like I’m at my wits end.Like I’m going to crack.People don’t understand emotionally how hard it is to be in pain every minute of everyday.I’ve had electric stimulation,massage therapy, adjustments,ice/heat physical therapy, a machine that was heavy as hell that vibrated and shocked my back all at once.Stretching, exercise.Next Thursday I’m suppose to go for spine decompression.DRX6000? Some new machine that’s suppose to help.
Anyways anyone with any advice whats so ever I would greatly appreciate.Sorry to have broken down yet I can not be alone in this unforgiving situation.Take care to you all.

In August last year I had a operation called a carpal tunnel decompression which I was told was a simple operation and I would be back to work within 2 weeks?
Since having this operation I still have the carpal pain with pins and needles but also more severe pain in my hand which is creeping up my arm into my shoulder. The added pain I feel in my hand now which started within 2 weeks of the having the operation is like nothing I have had before, it is unbearable :-(
I have also loss the movement in 3 of my fingers which means I drop things, cant pick things up etc…it has left me with a disabled hand :-(
I have asked the hospital about this but they will only address the pain but no one will say why my fingers don’t work anymore.
Please if anyone has any thing they know regarding symptoms I have stated can you please, please advise. I feel like I am banging my head up against a brick wall with regards to the hospital :-(

My friend has a pinched nerve, or so that’s the doctor’s theory. He has pain in his left butt cheek and it cramps up often, usually being worse in the morning. Pain medicine doesn’t seem to make a difference. He’s usually a pain when it comes to going to the doctor and is putting off his MRI that he needs. Any suggestions for at home remedies or something to help with the pain? Thanks! :)

I am currently 34 weeks and on Thursday I went into my doctor’s office because I was experiencing lower back cramping. It was not severe, but I had never had it before so I thought it best to get checked out. They tentatively diagnosed me with a bladder infection at that time, and said that was the cause of the cramping, but they said they needed to send my urine for testing and would be able to confirm the results at my appointment I had today. Well the test for the infection came back negative, so now I am back to not knowing the reasons for these pains and it makes me nervous. When I got checked out last week, baby was fine and I wasn’t contracting, so I’m not really worried about pre-term labor at this point, but I know there are other potentially serious things, like kidney stones, that can cause lower back pain…but my doctor did not seem concerned and didn’t look any further into the issue other than to suggest physical therapy for the discomfort, as he said that one of the most common complaints late in pregnancy is lower back pain…
So does anyone know of any other causes for this kind of mild, crampy pain? What needs to happen before I go back to the doctor and ask them to please determine the cause officially?
