12 days on and I have felt less muscular pain but the nerve pain is getting to me. I been given tramodal but get vile headaches so I’m just taking sleepers, amitrip and para. The pain in my groin down to my legs is horrible. Seating is vile, just started driving and vile. I feel worse of now than I did before the operation. Its getting to the point where I’m not sure when to empty my bladder as in so much pain. Got a lumbar steroid injection later this month and can’t wait. I still have the pain in my buttock down to my ankle when I fell over in June. What is going on..? everybody is saying wait and it will all get better. When I stand up I feel as if my back is collapsing, two days ago did some minor exercises that the physio ask me to do…ended up in spasum.?
Help….! really stressed…!

Four weeks post operation and the pain in my legs and feet are terrible…What is going on..? I’ve just started to reduce my amitripyline to 25 mg from 50 as I just can’t function during the day. Trying to stay of the pain killers so when I’m in lots of pain I just sit down and rest. Sorry to say but popping a sleeper at night is delightful. Shaving in the morning, unloading the dishwasher is horrible and that’s just the back. My thighs really hurt when I walk and when I sit my feet and calf’s go numb and tingle. When I go to bed my right buttock hurts, the incision was on the right..? has that got something to do with it. I have slept on my right for years. When I wake up in the morning the first thing on my mind is my feet and legs hurt (how sad is that). I was hoping to go back to work in a month, I’ve just started to walk a mile a day but both legs tingle afterwords. Seeing surgeon soon I hope he say’s give it more time and you will get better. After speaking to work they thought I would be back to work post op 6 weeks, there’s no way I could go back to work…? Motor functions have improved and my limp on the right has almost gone, slightly bent over when walking and legs tend to wobble, but in the back of my mind I’m pleased I can walk……thank you..!

I am doing a thesis in university and need information on the radial nerve decompression surgery. For instance, is it appropriate to use a grooved director?

I just had a discogram done yesterday, which was not fun… They said that disk decompression could help, I am 27yrs old with herniation on L4-5,L5-S1 levels. Is this a less evasive procedure and how sucessful of a treatment is it? Any feedback would be really helpful

In August last year I had a operation called a carpal tunnel decompression which I was told was a simple operation and I would be back to work within 2 weeks?
Since having this operation I still have the carpal pain with pins and needles but also more severe pain in my hand which is creeping up my arm into my shoulder. The added pain I feel in my hand now which started within 2 weeks of the having the operation is like nothing I have had before, it is unbearable :-(
I have also loss the movement in 3 of my fingers which means I drop things, cant pick things up etc…it has left me with a disabled hand :-(
I have asked the hospital about this but they will only address the pain but no one will say why my fingers don’t work anymore.
Please if anyone has any thing they know regarding symptoms I have stated can you please, please advise. I feel like I am banging my head up against a brick wall with regards to the hospital :-(
Please no wise cracks people.

See the attached link, it’s very comprehensive but understandable.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decompressi…
I’m a diver and have had a ‘bend’. Mine happened as a result of diving all weekend and, although out of water for longer than the prescribed time, taking an internal flight in the UK on the Monday.
My symptoms were minor but I spent 2 sessions of 5.5 and 2.5 hrs in a hyperbaric chamber getting recompression therapy.

What should we pack with us in our hospital suitcase? Also, he is a fairly heavy smoker. He wants to quit, and we have ordered an herbal remedy to help him quit that is supposed to arrive the same day as the surgery. He is going to wake up from surgery feinding for a ciggarette, but I don’t think it will be wise for him to get up, go outside and smoke, especially since he is trying to quit b/c his back won’t heal well if he is still smoking (as the physical therapist has told us). He hates the patch (has used it before and we have some left), but should I bring it with us to the hospital and (with Dr.’s approval, of course), slap it on him before he wakes up? Or maybe when he wakes up?

I’m not looking for internet info on it. I’m asking for personal experiences; did you have the medial epicondylectomy or the ulnar transposition; why did you go with that choice; did you have complications; did they resolve; are you now pain free; what advice would you tell someone about to undergo it? Thank you. I appreciate your personal feedback.
