Have seen a chiropractor and my G.P. but get no answers. X-rays have only shown the start of arthritis at the base of my neck. It seems that when I get tense and my back muscles get tight, the tremors get worse. I am aware of the location of the nerves running from my spine to my hands in the area of my back that I have problems with.Could it be muscle contracting onto the nerves and causing the tremors?

Chiropractor stretches and pops your back.
Spinal decompression is a procedure that slightly pulls your back to relieve pressures that are compressing your spinal disks.

I don’t know why. When I was young I was extremely flexible and agile (several years in martial arts- and was very good), then I had a brief jaunt with World of Warcraft when I was 12 and lost most of my agility and flexibility- and gained a lot of weight. Now I’m a 16 year old guy, still losing a bit of weight (5′9", 149lbs) but can’t get my back to work. My shoulder, neck and back muscles are extremely well formed due to my backpack for years (one time weighed up at 28lbs) but my spine hurts. If I rest my chin on my collar bone and look down at the same time it feels as though I’m pulling my spine out from between my back (spinal) muscles. I can barely touch my toes, and if I try a ’stradle stretch’ I put myself on the ground writhing in pain. It hurts to use it to pick up things, especially at work. At work I always am taking breaks because of it.

My mother sent me to a chiropractor who says that the pain is because I "haven’t released tension from my emotions, so my body ignores those spine muscles and they don’t get used- leading to soreness". After a few sessions it did help a slight bit, but not enough. Now I am taking Adderall as of two weeks ago and my neck muscles are CONSTANTLY tight and I get MAJOR headaches. I want to get into things like tricking, XMA and such, but I can’t do anything… And, as much as the chiropractor helps, it isn’t enough. And my parents are getting short on money (comes from supporting a brother without a job on another continent from home) so they won’t take me to the doctor or even a massage place (the indignancy of it too!) because it costs more than the chiropractor. And the ‘practor helped my mother and father lose some tension, so they believe she can ‘cure’ me regardless of my own personal opinion…

Any help please? It feels as though I’m pulling my spine off the muscles when I stretch it at all, and the resulting feeling of being rooted to the ground without the ability to jump, land, or do anything like that SUCKS. I used to jump from 13 foot heights just for fun, and never hurt myself. Now a 3 foot drop scares me because I can’t roll or anything when I hit the ground.
Yeah, maybe I should clarify the Adderall thing.
It’s for ADD. We didn’t notice it until I noticed I was zoning out- BIG TIME. I usually keep a tight grip on the way I move, react and feel. I barely show emotions other than humor, happiness, etc. Anger I keep bottled up a lot. But when I zone it kind of shows- I react faster than most of my classmates, move faster, etc. Side effect of the MA and being jumped often through childhood (even though I always won- I place a lot of emphasis on physical traits, can you tell lol?). So I zoned out and freaked a friend out at the gym when he threw a tennis ball at the back of my head and I caught it (I’d heard it coming). So I realized I’d zoned, guessed why, and turned out I was right lol.
I try to take baths- I actually enjoy them. But my tub isn’t big enough for me anymore, and it hurts even more when I’m in there.
I guess I just need to stretch more…

I’ve been to maybe 10 different doctors, a neurologist, a chiropractor, 2 physical therapists, and massage therapists. I’ve had xrays, MRIs, CT scans. It’s on both sides, but my right side it worse. It’s around my shoulder blade, collar bone, up my neck to the base of my skull. The masseuse described my muscles as a"steel cable" they were so tight. He put all his strength into losening my knots but most of the time I couldn’t even feel it. It’s getting worse and now my nerves are slightly pinched because my arm and fingers tingle. I’m never pain free. I can’t workout much or run because I’m too tight and uncomfortable. I’m thinking about resorting to Acupuncture! I’m running out of options and I can’t live like this anymore.

I’m 21 years old and a college student, but my workload isn’t too stressful.
I have tried most of those exercises and stretches, but haven’t stuck with them. I know I need to! I have a memory foam. And I have had surgery on both sides of my jaw for TMJ. The doctors assumed the surgery would fix my back. I’m trying my best to stick with the stretches. I guess I shouldn’t run then? :(

My mother has painful back pain, she has seen two different type of doctors.(1) Back surgeon who would like to do surgery by fusing together two or four of her vertebrates.(2) the other doctor is a chiropractor, who would like to use a decompression machine the machine is a DRX9000. The surgery is cheaper than the decompression machine. Her and I do not know which is best or better. Do anybody have any good or helpful answer?

A Pittsfield Chiropractor Suggests Tens Of Thousands Of Adults And Children Suffer From Distressing Headaches Each Day, Many From Migraines, Others Cluster, But The Majority Due To Tension By Reason Of Stress.

Ever have a headache so bad you thought your head would explode? You feel sick, have nausea and dizziness, intense head and neck pain, and even feel disoriented.

You are not alone. Millions of people suffer from debilitating headaches each day, some from migraine, others cluster, but most due to tension from stress. If you have no significant health issues, then there are 5 simple strategies you can use to reduce the pain associated with headaches and make your family life more enjoyable.

My first recommendation for decreasing headaches can even save you money. That’s a bonus! I always recommenced to my chiropractic patients to reduce their caffeine intake. Coffee is usually the main culprit, but many times sodas, teas, energy drinks, and even “indulgence” foods like chocolate can be a huge contributor to your headaches. By refining the intake of caffeine products, and replacing them with loads of fresh water, you can take a major step forward in reducing the intensity, duration, and frequency of your headaches.

Another suggestion that can save you money and prevent other health issues is to stop smoking. While the main culprit of cigarette smoking is nicotine, there are many other sources of nicotine to consider. Chewing tobacco, cigars, and even second-hand smoke (at someone house or in bars and clubs) can be a significant contributor to your headaches. Reducing exposure to nicotine is a critical decision to make as it will affect all area’s of your health.

Third tip is easy and something our parents preached to us as children . Remember when your parents wished you a good night’s sleep? They were teaching you something valuable! A good night’s sleep, full of uninterrupted deep rest, goes a long way in reducing the duration and intensity of your headaches. It also helps with your immune system and overall health. Meditation helps reduce the overall stress in your life, so that you can get deep, quality sleep.

Next is utilize a nutritious diet. Eating healthy will allow your body (and internal systems) to work properly. A diet high in fresh fruits and vegetables, and low in red meat will help reduce inflammation and decrease headaches. Refine your eating habits as much as possible so that you improve your overall health and, at the same time, reduce your headache pain. Remember that a part of eating healthy is to drink adequate amounts of water. Talk with your Pittsfield Chiropractor or nutritionist, or look at the US RDA recommendations for your height and body weight.

Finally, chiropractic manipulations can help relieve headache pain quickly. Many of our patients with severe headaches have had an issue with a spinal cord disc, an impinged nerve, other spinal interference, which when corrected immediately relieved the headache. Find a qualified, licensed chiropractor, who has expertise in relieving headaches. You should understand exactly what the Pittsfield Chiropractor can do to help your body start working properly again.

By utilizing these five simple steps, you will be well on your way to eliminating many of the causes of your headache pain.

I heard about a chiropractor offering spinal decompression as an alternative to back surgery for slipped or herniated disc. What does decompression therapy do?

I was rear-ended at a red light on Jan 30th, at about 15-20mph. My neck hurt that evening, and has been getting progressively worse. I was treated by my chiropractor 4 times since the injury, and it has not improved permanently (only temporarily). It is painful to turn my neck for more than a few moments (I can’t sleep with a turned neck, or turn my neck to talk with someone for more than a couple minutes, etc, without feeling pain).

I am wondering which treatment is most effective for whiplash neck injuries: chiropractic care (maybe with a new chiro), or physical therapy.

Any sensible help is very very very much appreciated.
Thanks!
As far as the pain goes, it’s not starting to run down my arm or anything, but just becoming stiffer and more intense in my neck.

I am a 30 year old man in generally good health. Several years ago I had an accident while parachuting in the military. My back/neck were severely twisted on landing, to the point where I was nearly paralyzed. Luckily, I was able to walk away but the pain has lasted ever since.

Since that injury my back pain has kept me from walking very far, no running, standing, etc. I’ve become very stiff all over as well. The pain is generally in the lower lumbar area where the lower and upper back muscles meet. It is usually dull and throbbing, but becomes stabbing or tearing when I exercise for any length of time (45-60 mins cardio).

I have put on a lot of weight since the injury, which isn’t helping the back, but then my cardio exercise ability has dropped dramatically. I’ve had xrays and an MRI and no structural damage has been found. When standing, however, one xray showed my back bowing toward the right side (injury was on the left). I shift weight toward the right when standing too.

I’ve been to a chiropractor but that didn’t bring lasting results. I do some yoga positions to stretch it out but the pain still persists. Oddly, sitting causes the pain as well. If I lay for a long time and the back straightens I can walk better but if I sit in a chair for awhile then walking afterward will hurt a lot.

So, can anyone point something to help out? Anyone dealing with similar? I want to get back in shape and be active again, but am tired of this holding me back.

looking at becomming a chiropractor… and focusing on maybe Cleveland Chiropractic College or Southern California University of Health Sciences or life chiropractic college west (though the first two are preferable due to distance).

Just looking for recommendations of college’s and any advice! Thanks!

My husband has had worsening sciatica (diagnosed by the doctor) for about two months. Unfortunately job committments means that he does not have the time to take off to see a physiotherapist. I have been trying to find appropriate exercises to relieve his pain online but am bombarded with so many different ones, alongside conflicting advice about how doing the wrong ones can make the sciatica worse. Obviously we don’t want to do these, but how do we know which ones are safe to do? He has pain in his buttock which shoots down his leg, and has now got the stage where it is constant pain, with no relief, much worse when reaching for the feet but almost total relief when sitting.
Painkillers including anti inflammatories do nothing, and I bought him a support belt today, but the position it forced him in to caused him sickening pain.
can anyone offer advice or good websites? We are at our wits end
much appreciated.
He works on the railway, to get to work is a 2.5 hour drive there and back, and yes on his feet all day. But again there is no option to change jobs, he couldn’t afford to change his job full stop. I will see about finding him a chiropractor, thanks

I have been reading about people who conceived after getting chiropractic care. Has anyone heard about this before? I’ve never been to a chiropractor in my life, because frankly, I thought they were nonsense unless you had gotten into a car accident or were injured, but I feel like we’ve tried almost everything and it could be worth a shot. What do you think?
That is what I have noticed in the past from people I know who have gone to chiropractors. They always seem to be complaining that their back, neck, etc. hurts and they’re always going back.

I started experiencing sciatica pain in my lower back and left leg at the age of 16 which prevented me from doing regular exerise, playing football etc. – very young I’m told to experince this sort of problem. And as a result, after having consulted 2 doctors at the time to try and diagnose the specific problem, I was sent to a hospital for an X-RAY, and to a chiropractor to see exactly if there was any sort of problem.

I was told by both the doctors and chiropractic that the base of my spine was somewhat compounded and the discs were close together which could be causing the pain.

As with all chiropractors, I was given a strict routine of exercises to follow in the hope it would eradicate the problem, but I’m 21 years old now, and although it is often OK, I still experince seriously painful days or weeks where it won’t go away and prevents me almost walking, let alone training or doing anything.

Because of my age, I felt I perhaps was’nt taken as seriously as somebody with similar problems if they’d been middle-aged, but I now have no idea what to do. I was disheartened by the lack of help I was given and that the doctors did not recognise the severity of the problem hence why i have not returned.

Do I continue with exercise as best I can and just learn to live with it, or is this something that can be fixed with surgery. I find it difficult to see how any doctor of chiropractic can irradicate pain completely if the discs are compounded. I don’t particually wan’t to have to do those silly exercises every day for the rest of my life, so what are my options?
