i ve had this nagging lower back pain since the last three weeks. and i ve been pregnant since the same time. my pregnancy calendar shows that the pain started 2 days after i conceived. i ve been diagnosed with spasm, but at that time i dint know that i was pregnant. could the pregnancy be causing all this ? thanks for the response.
Hello… I have suffered from upper and lower back pain for 14 years due to a car wreck. I deal with it everyday and I know what is causing it. I am however having a completely different problem today and it started yesterday while I was deep cleaning my mom’s house. The stabbing pain is on the left side of my back ranging from my shoulder blade down to my kidney. I also have the same pain in my right shoulder (from the top to my neck). The pain is tingly and stabbing at the same time. When I move the pain changes and I can get into a position where I don’t feel it at all. Does anyone with experience know if the problem I’m having has to do with nerves or simply pulled muscles? I’ve had many sore muscles in my days but have never felt anything like this. I’m mainly asking because I know I won’t be able to get in to see my doctor until at least Monday and I need to know if I should take it easy or try to continue moving around. I appreciate any advice I can get. Thanks!
Im twenty years old a little under 5ft and 186lb (i know horrible). Recently I’ve been exercising for about 45mins a day trying to get this weight off and hopefully I see progress. Anyways sometimes I have severe lower back pain. Like when im mopping the floor or bending, my back hurts like crazy. Is this because im overweight?
She has suffered from Sciatica for a few years but recently it has got alot worse, to be expected with pregnancy but what should she be doing, or seeing?
Does she qualify for any ‘free’ NHS treatment, etc?
I’m a 24 year old man, and I’ve been having this sharp pain in my left hip/butt/lower back for about a week now. No history of trauma or any new physical activity, but it hurts to put weight on my left leg, or to extend or abduct my hip. There is also some tenderness around the SI joint. It’s about a 8/10 pain in the mornings, but I take some ibuprofen and it makes it more like a 3/10 during the day. I’m taking three 200mg tablets about three times a day because I have to walk around the hospital (I’m a medical student).
It has hurt in the same area last year, and I was diagnosed with piriformis syndrome. But usually that gets better with some stretches — this time the stretches seem to make it worse.
Can anyone offer some advice? I’m seeing my doctor this Saturday if it doesn’t get better by then.
Over the past few days I’ve had some slight lower back pain due to some heavy snow shovelling. Nothing too severe. I actually thought it was getting better, but then tonight I was lying on the floor on my back watching TV, and I went to get up and the pain was so severe I had to get someone to help me to my bed. I can’t stand, neel, or even sit. The only way I can describe it is if there is any pressure straight down on my spine (kneeling, sitting, or standing) it is truly unbearable. Excruciating. What have I done and why did it happen so fast just while I was lying there?
About 3 weeks ago, I woke up with severe lower back pain that is located right in the centre, just above my butt (so it’s not my coccyx). At the time, I took 100mg tramadol and heat packs and it went away in about 5 days. Since then, it’s been coming back randomly, and only lasting about 2 days. However, today it’s back with a vengeance. I was barely able to walk 5 hours ago and tramadol hasn’t helped. I’ve spent the last 5 hours laying on my back on the couch on a heat pack, and it’s loosened up a bit, but it’s still painful as hell and difficult to walk. I have a doctor’s appt on the 11th but in the meantime, what should I do? I have to go out on Friday, and I’m supposed to spend the weekend away, how can I do this with the back pain? I have a codeine allergy so things like Panadeine Forte aren’t an option.
Seeing a chiropractor is not practical as they cost a fortune and are not covered by Australian Medicare.
I’ve had this problem for over a month now. Whenever I stand or walk for more than say 5 or 10 minutes I get these shooting/stabbing pains all over my lower back. It DOESN’T spread to anywhere else such as my legs or upper back either and there’s no bruising or pain when you physically touch my lower back. I don’t even remember pulling or lifting anything to cause this pain. Is this a slipped disc or something? Will it ever go away on it’s own?
It’s been going on for over a month and OTC pain meds aren’t helping. His mom thinks it’s the early stages of arthritis because hers started when she was his age (in her 20s) and is in the same place…lower back. Any ideas?
Massage helps temporarily. What else can I do. I can tell exactly where it starts – it sends a dull pain down my lower back, butt, upper leg and knee. Very uncomfortable!
Whenever I’m on my feet for very long my lower back starts to ache, but only on the left side. It’s not the typical soreness you might get in your back after standing for a long time. I’m 19, and this had been going on since I was a little kid (maybe 10?). Once the pain starts, it takes a long time for it to go away. I work as a cashier at a grocery store so I stand for hours on end, so my back is almost always aching these days. It feels a little better if I sit down or if I bend over and touch my toes. The pain isn’t horrific – it’s just a big nuisance and it makes me feel worn out even when I’m energized. Any idea what could be causing this?
For about two months now, I’ve had increasing lower back pain. The thing is, it never hurts until I lie down for a while, and then get back up. The getting up part is almost unbearable, and it takes me a few moments to successfully stand up.
The thing is, I have no idea what’s causing this. I’m only nineteen, I’m not overly active, nor am I overweight (I stand about 5′3″ and weigh around 128 lbs). I’ve just bought (it’s been about two weeks) a new mattress in hopes that my back pain will go away, but it hasn’t. I also don’t have the money to just run to the doctor and this turn out to be nothing.
Anyone with any ideas? I could really use them!!
When I’m sitting down or lying down, it doesn’t hurt at all, but after standing for about 3 minutes or walking for about 5-10 minutes, my lower right side starts hurting really bad. I’m hoping it’s not anything requiring surgery. I have scoliosis with a herrington rod in my back. I’m 40 years old and had the surgery when I was 13 years old. I just dread the news. It’s been doing this for about a year. Please don’t give me lectures about going to the doctor. I know I need to, but can’t really afford being out of work if surgery is required.
that is one of the ways sciatic pain will manifest. Have your lower spine checked out by a chiropractor.
