My Girlfriend Is 5 Months Pregnant And Her Lower Back Is Causing Her A Lot Of Pain. What Should She Do?
She has suffered from Sciatica for a few years but recently it has got alot worse, to be expected with pregnancy but what should she be doing, or seeing?
Does she qualify for any ‘free’ NHS treatment, etc?

She should go and see her doctor and ask to be referred to a physiotherapist. She can see one on the NHS.
Make sure that the doctor knows she is pregnant. They often tell people with back pain to wait a few weeks and then come back, but they are much more sympathetic if you are pregnant.
A physio will be able to help. I had a bad back when I was pregnant and had physio and it really helped.
You should give her a massage eveeeeerydayyy.

She can take normal paracetomol up to the recommended of 2 tabs every 4hrs with no more than 8 in a day.
This is a normal symptom of pregnancy. When the baby gets bigger, the stomach gets heavier. There is nothing she can do but to rest as much as she can. If she can’t handle the pain, she can take regular tylenol. After regular doctor check ups, she can talk to her doctor about getting elective cesarean. Under health problems, the doctor can open her up and remove the baby when she’s more further in her pregnancy. This is quite unsafe, but this is the only option.
Try a local chiropractor that works with pregnant women.
I had LOTS of lower back pain and going to a chiro helped wonders!
get a heat pack from the chemist, put it in the micro for 2 mins and it l eases the pain. i got sciatica after my 1st child 10 years ago, then after carring twins this year it came back 10 times worse.
poor thing i know how she is feeling i had that with 1 of my pregnancies i went to my docs ,they sent me to the hospital ,i had to go 2times a week it did no good bless it does hurt like hell i couldnt walk it made me so down ,good luck x physio didnt work for me!!
for now i would suggest u just help her out, like to her evry need and stuff. if shes under 18 then she might get free treatment. or if not. go to a doctors and there proscribe summet for the pain
